Health and safety

We do our best to keep your children safe whilst at school. If your child hurts themselves during the school day, it is recorded. If we are concerned that your child needs further attention, then we will contact you by phone. Likewise, if your child becomes ill during the day, we will contact you to arrange for them to be collected from school. Children who have suffered a head bump will also be issued with a slip detailing the incident, time and date. We have found this a really useful way to ensure parents are informed.

If your child has suffered sickness or diarrhoea they should not be brought back to school for 48 hours,to prevent spreading infections to others.

E-safety is an important part of keeping our children safe. E-safety is taught to all pupils explaining and demonstrating how to stay safe and behave appropriately online. We can only be successful in keeping children safe if we work with parents and carers to ensure the e-safety message is consistent. It is important that parents and carers know how to stay safe and speak to their children about how they can stay safe on line.  Our ‘Safeguarding and E-safety’ page (School Information tab) and the ‘E safety’ page (Parent Information tab) contains further information about ways to support your child online (some information is also restated on the Class Pages, to ensure the information and guidance is readily available). An e-safety page aimed at children is also included on this website in the Pupil Area tab.

RNLI Water Safety (1st July 2020)

This summer, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) have highlighted that Lifeguards cannot be on every beach, meaning a heightened water safety risk to beach goers.  They have asked us to share some important messages to children and their families.

Outdoor Swimming

The fine weather, along with the inevitable enthusiasm to be outside in the current circumstances, has led to a number of children, often with their families, swimming in local rivers, Fens and lakes.

For further information, to remind all of the need for absolute vigilance when near water, please see the information below:
