E-safety

E-safety is an important part of keeping our children safe. E-safety is taught to all pupils, explaining and demonstrating how to stay safe and behave appropriately online. We can only be successful in this, if we work with parents/carers to ensure the message is consistent. It is important that parents/carers know how to stay safe and speak to their children about how they can use technology appropriately.

All parents and carers can access advice and ideas around keeping children safe online by visiting the National College’s online safety resource platform here.

There are also many online courses available for parents and carers which can be taken at your own convenience and covers:

· Information about online dangers and the newest platforms

· What online risks to look out for and how to protect your child

You will need to complete your details and select “I am a: Parent/Carer” from the dropdown:

Once you have registered, you will be able to access the “Online Safety for Parents and Carers’ course and National Online Safety’s Resources (which includes 50+ online platform guides on the latest social media channels and games). This aims to help empower parents/carers with the knowledge to protect their children from the dangers of the internet.

If you have any questions, or trouble accessing the course please contact support@nationalonlinesafety.com

Here is a link to a website for parents that promotes online safety and awareness. It also has parent guides for different apps.
